Me "like" made from other artist

SO.-

First thing to say:

because there are a lot of pirates out there, that like to copy from some other artist and bla bla bla.. This is not something like that. I made these drawings on purpose because that was one of the assignment we did at school. I'm publishing these drawings just for fun, is myself drawn by myself trying to explore different styles from other artist.- I added their logos to show which style I chosed and that's it.-

It was difficult to draw myself as a Lion, I put that rabbit in front of him because the others have a t-shirt with a rabbit. part of the mane became the hoody.- The mignola' style I choosed was very interesting and I think that work better in black and white, but doesn't match with the other without colours so here is it.-

Do this exercise is very helpfull to see how other artist solve problems and why something is appealing or not.- Thanks to Clint that gave me this wonderful exercise.-

In my little town, Luino, every year there a big event called 24 ore di BAsket (or something like that) where lot of crazy people like to attend.- It is a contest where you have to play basketball for 24 hours, whithout stopping it.- Actually what I said is not correct but that's the basic Idea. Now: I have a friend who is one of the organizator. He asked me last year to make this illustration for a flyer. Ok.- This is what I did, you can also see some ruf drawings where I started from.-

Tigre contro Tigre

Tigre contro tigre is a famous italian tongue-twister.. The meaning is Tiger versus tiger and that's why I gave this title to those sketches.- A friend of mine asked me to make a tiger for her and so I started to make some ruff .-

Have a ROoooOOOOaRRRy week!

Weird Dream

We are the guy with the tie.
The Duck is our dream. She's bringing us up.
The ground is what people thinks about us: BLA BLA BLA.
The Sky is the sky.
The direction is our destiny.

SO: We're walking on people opinions about us, thanks to our dreams.

People opinion kills our own dreams sometime. I think we should listen to them but never leave the connection with our dreams!

This where I'm starting, there's lots of better way to make it better, this was the first visualization, of corse I'm going to work on that.-

Run number 2 - That's a very hungry one.-

Hamburger!
This is probably the right way to lose weight.-

So, starting from the character structure I used for the old run I did, I made this in flash, just to have more fun!

Ok, Run a part, it was a lot of pain fixing the string but at the end I was pretty happy :-)

Charicatures

Good something to everyone!
I've found this charicatures I made for a contest years ago:

It's crazy that in Italy everything is already the same, the only things that changed is that everyone is older.-
Please, someone with talent save Italy from thosw clowns!

Emilio Fede, the Berlusconi's handyman-carpet:

Romano Prodi and Umberto Bossi.- Romano Prodi is not like before, but if we think about his as a line-up, ok, it is exactly as before.-

Run assignment number 1 - Waky waky

Hello Everyone!

TOday I'm posting the first run assignment I did in Vanarts: starting from the character that they gave me, I did this run (mybe it is a little bit exagerated but I wanted to try what I can do with flash, how much I can Push.- Makin' flash Cartoons doesn't mean making limited quality, that's why I'm trying to see how far we can go, during something like that.

This is the character:

This is my first Run:

CIao to everyone!

Proportions

Hello Guys! Today I'm going to show you an assignment I did at Vanarts about Characters Basic Proportions:

there are three kinds of body types; ectomorph, mesomorph, and endomorph:

Some characters, like Olive Oil from popeye, are born to be thin. These delicately built individuals are ectomorphs.

Others are destined to be athletic, like Disney's characters Aladdin or Hercules. They are mesomorphs.

Then there are the endomorphs, characters like Peg Leg Pete or Baloo , who sport softer, rounder bodies and have difficulty losing weight.

To do this assignment I decided to make three puppeteers and play with them and their puppets:

The Goatfather

I love the Goadfather movies, expecially the first one with Marlon Brando.
When we went to the farmyard I thought: goat! goat.. goat... Goatfather! I wannamake something like that, it sounds funny!
So I made it.- I started making some ruff of Marlon Brando then I tried to make him as a goat. I also made a thumbnail for the composition.
I made some Goat sketches to make the characters more believable. Here the final drawing and some of the studies I did.-

My friend Tommaso make me the Logo(thank you Tom).-

Goats are such a funny characters and who knows? Probably me and my storywriter are going to start a project with about that :-)

Have a nice week guiS! Stay tuned

A Colorful Panda.-

Once upon a time,
the storywriter I usually work with, Tommaso Valsecchi, came with the idea of a Panda sad because of his lack of colors.
I'm so glad that he actually sold this story and I'm waiting for his book (illustrated by a guy that I don't know) coming in 2010.-

Inspired from that story, I made these pictures with my favourite tecnique: collage.- maybe collage is not cool anymore (at least for Italian publishing houses) but I think that is very good to improve color skills and semplification.-

Here some examples of what I did (some time ago):

What can you do when you go to the zoo and it is a wonderful sunny day? SKETCHES! eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh! I love to sketch! And here we go, a bounch of animals.- Actually I was a little bit scared of the hyppos, someone (Celarent) told me they are very dangerous if you invade their territor.-
