Alta Cucina .- work in progress

Hello friends! So happy to announce that me and my Storywriter Tommi decided to make a comic collection about our old project called " High Kitchen"!!! We published that as our first real Job 6 or 7 years ago. They use to be just comic strips in a magazine called 44 Gatti by Gaghi Editore. The characters are the same, they changed the design a little.. But what changed a lot is the sense of humor. In fact they started as comics for children and now they are doing the least things you can do in a kitchen. Like vomiting in the pot ora even worst stuff. I hope to find a good publisher but, by the way, we can also Do self-publishing.- We want to be ready for at least Lucca Comic on 2012 but maybe before :-) I hope you will like it!

Sono fiero di annunciare che finalmente, dopo anni di sperimentazioni, io e il mio sceneggiatore Tommi stiamo preparando e abbiamo
Intenzione di pubblicare, i fumetti di Alta Cucina"!!!! Sono stati uno dei nostri primi lavori professionali, 6 o 7 anni fa, venivano editi sul magazine per bambini 44 Gatti! I personaggi sono rimasti loro, abbiamo cambiato leggermente il design ma.. Quello che davvero è cambiato è il tipo di comicità. Infatti se sono nati come Strip per bambini ora sono tavole autoconclusive che parlano dei peggiori modi in cui Joe e Sam preparano le portate per i loro clienti del ristorante.- Joe è uno di quelli che vomita nel brodo. Sam vede Joe vomitare e vomita a sua volta.. Dove capita. Io disegnando le storie rido un sacco, spero capiterà anche ai lettori! Speriamo di trovare un editore ma comunque,la nostra intenzione è di autoprodurci.- vogliamo essere pronti per la fiera del fumetto a Lucca (magari anche prima)! Vedremo come andrà :-)

Hello friends!

I remember myself as a child. Reading "il Giornalino".. It was a Magazine we were forced to read during the Catholic elementary school. I really didn't like anything in that magazine except for Carlo Peroni's comic strips (l'ispettore Perogatt for example) and Pinky <- From Massimo Mattioli. I also think that something of them is still in my drawings.

Today Carlo Peroni left Us.

I hope he's still smoke his pencil in heaven.

painting my studio!

Hello amici!

I'm sorry to not posting anything BUT I'm sure you guys can understand: I'm painting my new studio!

It was a very old place (probably from 1800) so the wall wasn't strong enough to take all the paint and broke down like a cracker. So I had to put some stuff on it ( actually I don't know what) then wait 2 days then put the white paint the wait then put the color then wait then color again then wait and bla bla bla bla bla.

It takes time!

Plus I'm making a musical (coming out next may I hope to see you there!) for now I can't tell you which is the musical (SURPRISE) but I can tell U that from rehersal we're having so much fun that I think it's gonnabe cool!

So that's why I'm not posting so much!

BUT I can also say that I had the opportunity to fallow a live licture with John Lasseter (he came here in Milan!!!!) I'll talk about this later in another post.

Time to change

Hello my friends!

How is your life going? Mine is (as all the time) confused. Something is going super well, something is going medium size. Something is just going ok <-- buuuuuuh!

Yesterday night I wanted to change my Facebook profile, I think something is changing :-) I need to be super positive 'coz I want to make something cool.

Thanks for coming to my blog :-) When I see every week how many people you are I want to cry, 'coz this helps me a lot to improve my skills and to don't feel a loser when I go to Lucca Comics whithout a booth <---- my dream. Maybe next time :-)

Make a character starting from different shapes

I was talking about making characters starting from different shapes (triangles, squares, circles) so I did this quick demo. The Idea was to make a wolf.-

First I did those thumbnails on my sketchbook then I did the final version with my Cintiq.

I'm happy 'coz I'm finally gonnamake a studio, my own studio, woooooooooooooW!

So I won't work in my living room anymore! WAHHHHHHHH!!! So happy!!!!

I will finally have a kind of normal life, waking up in the morning and get ready to go to work somewhere and then, when I'll done, come back HOME <---- HOME SWEET HOME and maybe watch a movie or sketch something or read a book or dance or going out with my dog Blasco :-)

I did some sketches and I've also got a new sketchbook moleskyne this one <-- the paper inside is very light but It's good enough to draw. I think that in Italy we should have more variety of sketchbooks. We only have fancy sketchbooks.

Sad day today.

I mean, my home page, when I start Safari is the Apple website. Everyday, before going to Facebook, before going to read the news, before everything.. I go to the Apple website and I admire it. Today there was more. There was Steve Jobs close up. Unbelievable. So sad.

No words for that, only a big Thank You Steve, for the big inspiration you gave me, for Pixar, for making me looking cool with my new Ipod, my new Mac, my Iphone and bla bla bla, you gave to the world a lot of magic and now, to have magic again we have to wait we don't know how long. But now God, can finally have the Iphone.

Me Boxing

Hello!

I've started boxing for a while so my Maestro asked me to make the flyer for the new season.. I did a restyling for the logo. I mean, I didn't have a lot of time but Now it's done so, I have something to post :-) If you're wondering how is boxing.. It's good. I'm loosing my weight easier and I'm feeling pretty awake (finally).

Nobody is gonnabreak your nose, that's an Urban legend. At least for now.

the Smurfs day

I did this quick Sketch in Photoshop as a tribute to part of my childhood, Smurfette doesn't know what to do with her house, she will probably make a good Risotto (expecially 'coz it's getting cold in here).

My sketchbook is gonnabe full, but, I'm happy 'coz My mother gave a new one, it is kind of cool with a fake leather cover..I'll post it later :-D I think I'm gonna draw only Western stuff.. So I can finally try to understand Guns :-D For now.. Here's some other ladies I did in Spotorno :-)

I'm doing some characters as a commission and, thanks to sketching, I find easier to draw ladies.

I did some sketches during my 1 day vacation I did in Spotorno, a very good place in Liguria close to Savona. I loved it so much so next year if I'll have only 1/2 days I'd like to go there again. It's just 3 hours (or even less) if you're comin' from Milano/Luino or I mean.. North of Italy.
